So this is my first travel blogpost describing my exciting trip to city of dreams LONDON.
It was a first international trip with my partner and trust me I had an incredible vacation and i mean it completely.
So we flew down to London around Christmas and new year which is the best time to plan a vacation in this winter wonderland and it was a long vacation of almost 2 weeks as We were looking up to scout all beautiful getaways we had in our itinerary for this dreamland.
I have always been fantasized by the old British charm, their iconic architecture, beautiful clean streets and everything that makes it look so dreamy and wonderful. Its been 3 months to this trip and i have my next London trip scheduled on cards so i have no words to express that I actually left my heart to dreamy sights of London.
Here I’m giving you top 5 reasons to visit London:
This city has some amazing tourist attractions like London Bridge, Buckingham palace, London eye, Madame Tussauds, panoramic view of London from shards, red telephone booths, historical monuments, Ice skating etc. The smart way to visit all these sights is by making The London Pass as it saves both your money and time. The Big Bus can also be a good tour guide to take you to all attractions of the city.
During Christmas and new years, London is absolutely beautiful and all decked up with fairy lights. The city is all lit up with prettiest display of lights especially on the central London streets like oxford street, Regent Street as shown in the pictures below.
Its such a treat to eye to witness London in the festive spirit and take the evening strolls under these light is so enchanting and pleasing. On the new years eve I also got to witness the amazing fireworks on the river Thames.
Winters in London
Winters in London is quite chilly but pleasant. It barely snows in london but still the temperature is always below 0 degrees due to heavy snowfall in its neighbourhood. The weather remains quite unpredictable at the start of the day, it can rain any time but not like heavy rainfall but might drizzle throughout, we witnessed just 2-3 bright sunny days in 2 weeks but anyhow the perk of vacation would be that our day would end in the warmth of english pub or luxury dining at shards. London winters are all about warmover coats and long boots for all fashion divas!
With Festive season around there are fantastic sales to be snapped at most of the brand stores at Oxford street and Regent street. To me whole of central london looked like a shopping carnival so i would always advice you keep some spare luggage bag if you are travelling during festive holidays as you can’t resist to your shopping temptations at these slashing prices.
We also went to Harrods for a luxury shopping experience, the mall had all luxury brand with latest collection at one stop. I ended up buying tom ford oud, Michael Kors wallet and some huda beauty make up i wanted since pretty long. I also splurged on some warm winter dresses and good boots which I’m sure was definitely a good buy !
Thames River boat Cruise
Undoubtedly running through the middle of city on the boat cruise is the best way to see the London’s most iconic sites. I totally loved the experience of sightseeing city by cruising and listening to the history from witty guide with luxury dining experience. These boat cruise were comfortable with open upper deck and spacious lower deck with restaurant and bar services in it. We took almost 2 hours cruise ride alongside impressive old architecture of london such as tower bridge, london eye, houses of parliament , Big Ben, Westminster etc.
